These happy owners held their puppies while waiting in line to get vaccines. I had gone into the pet store to get my dog’s nails trim. It is such an interesting place to visit with all the dogs in the store and the toys and treats. I am usually pretty frugal, but we are keeping our current dog’s (not show in the photo) nails trimmed. Hubby used to trim our previous dogs’ nails. But research shows that dogs really don’t enjoy having their owners trim their nails and you can actually created a better bond with your dog if you don’t do its nail.
Kudos to these puppy parents who graciously agreed to let me take their photo.
Interesting tidbit for you: My dog is named after Margaret Bourke-White. Bourke-White was hired by Henry Luce as the first female photojournalist for Life magazine in 1936. My dog’s name is MaggieBW and serves as my companion. I’m training her to be a newshound. She’s not that good at sniffing our the news, put she is learning quickly to sit on a large dog bed behind my work station, like a good little girl, and keep me company.
Bourke-White was a war correspondent during World War II, took photos of Ghandi, and also took icon photos during the Great Depression.
Here is my favorite photo of Margaret Bourke-White. She on top of a gargoyle at the Chrysler Building in New York City.
I didn’t bother asking these people the names of their dogs. I actually am in favor of “real” dog names like Spot, Spike, Buddy or Dasher, but I broke my own rule in order to give me inspiration.
