Public Art: making an ice sculpture in Central Hillside

A woman stands on a bridge in a park near the Central Hillside Community Center. Isn’t this exactly what the funders [Duluth LISC] were hoping… people to interact with the art?

Local artists Kristen Pless, Daniel Schutte and Daniel Neff created this ice sculpture.

About the Ice Sculpture

The Twin Ports: Temporary/Public is a public art display made of ice from Lake Superior’s shore and fabricated ice created by local artists Kristen Pless and Daniel Neff and environmentalist Daniel Schutte. Fabricated ice includes found objects collected from the Central Hillside, thereby raising awareness of resident stewardship of Lake Superior by paying attention to trash and debris going into our stormwater, natural environment and ultimately Lake Superior.
