Too much snow on the roof

The management of the Miller Hill Mall notified store owners and managers that they might be too much snow on the roof and that they needed remove the snow. (Some stores were closed for a while.)

Frozen Lake Superior

From accuweather.com: “By the long shot this is the most ice we’ve had on Lake Superior in 20 years,” Associate Professor Jay Austin of the Large Lakes Observatory in Duluth, Minn., said. During a typical winter, 30 to 40 percent of the Great Lakes are covered by ice, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.

Dueling snowblowers

We had another storm today. Some (many) areas of Duluth received 18 inches of snow. I’ve given up on taking my car anywhere. I took this photo why waiting for the bus. The Duluth Transit Authority advices people to stand at the intersection nearest their bus stop as many bus stops are snowed in.

Snowstorm

We had a snowstorm today. By the end of the day Duluth got about 5 -1/2 inches of snow. Traffic was piled up and there was a 30 car accident in the tunnel of I-35 under the Pickwick Restaurant.  See the story here: I-35 pile up

Hubcap wreath

I never noticed this hubcap wreath until this morning. Looks like it was made for the Christmas season. I bet these neighbors have lots of  lost or spare hubcaps since they are at the corner of 6th Avenue East and 9th Street.

Those darn deer!

Sometimes it is fun to see deer, but sometimes it is a pain. Our neighbor feeds the deer, so hw frequently has deer in his yard.
