Hello. Did you miss your Duluth Daily Photo? Well, we were on a Holistic Holiday at Sea cruise in the Carribean.

I know this photo is NOT beautiful, but it does give you a taste of life in Duluth today. As you can see from this photo we  brought the “tropical” weather back with us. Today it got up to 52 degrees, water is running everywhere…the streets, the sidewalks. It’s muddy and snow from the previous week’s blizzards is melting. When I walked the dog earlier today many of my neighbors were outside, finding outside chores to do, many washing things and moving things around. It fun to see so many people in the outdoors.

I know this blog is supposed to focus on the our city but I just want to you a little bit more about what we learned on our holistic holiday. Our holiday  menu was vegan and we attended lectures from prominent medical doctors in preventing and reducing heart disease, diabetes and other diseases. Speakers included: Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr. author of  Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study (which talks about how to reduce heart disease, cancer and diabetes.) and Dr. Neal Barnard, a leader in nutrition and research. As an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University. These are the same doctors who help President Clinton and who are the stars of the movie Forks Over Knives

It was sponsored by A Taste of Health which is dedicated to educating people on healthy living. Here is a link to the website: www.atasteofhealth.org.

One of the participants on the cruise was an environmental blog writer. She has three interesting posts here:
