A fair amount of people start waiting in line at “Last Place on Earth” before it opens. They are waiting to purchase “bath salts” which they use to get high. I need someone else to fill me in here, even though I ‘ve read stories about it, I’m not sure exactly how you take bath salts. I think you smoke them. They are a stimulant, something closer to cocaine or meth. This is the new rush hour in downtown Duluth…even on a Sunday, there is a rush hour.
We can barely see Superior today.
We have been having a lot of foggy days lately.
From the website Minnesota State Colleges and Universities: Overlooking the beautiful Lake Superior harbor in Duluth, the Lake Superior College campus is located in a natural setting that includes an urban forest, nature trails, a disc golf course and a trout stream. The college offers more than 80 technical majors and programs for transfer, with many provided online including dialysis patient care, accounting, business administration and an Associate in Arts transfer degree.
Hmmmmm….someone has some optimism. (Planting in March.) I thought we weren’t safe from a freeze until after Mother’s Day, which is May 13 this year.
Here is another photo where you can’t see the water or the horizon. You can see parts of the Ariel Lift Bridge, the water towers and the steam plant’s smoke stack.
We’ve had unseasonably warm weather and when we look at the lake we can’t tell where it ends and the sky begins. I debated between posting this and a photo of Vintage Duluth with their manikins dress in green clothing.
